Due to a sudden case of acute lack of creativity (and a slight case of distraction), coupled with my ongoing need to talk about myself incessantly, I present you with 50 random facts about me. I got the idea from Emily… I particularly like how she updates it.
1. I was born in Toledo, Ohio
2. I’m a bicentennial baby (for those of you unfamiliar with the term, I was born in 1976)
3. I have naturally curly hair. Not just curly, like… Shirley Temple curly. Ridiculously, obnoxiously curly.
4. I’m quite tall. 6’1″ or 6’2″ depending on if you believe my tape measure or the Army.
5. I have chestnut brown eyes.
6. I have two wonderful children… A boy and a girl, Future Cardiologist is 8, She Who Rules is 3.
7. I have one sibling, The Responsible One, who is five years younger than myself. He’s 6’4″ and fiercely overprotective. And my best friend.
8. I went to high school at an inner city public high school. It was a bit of a culture shock from my previous nine years at a strict Catholic school.
9. When I was younger I wanted to be either an Astronaut or a Paramedic. Right now I’m neither, but I’m working on the Glitter Badge.
10. Speaking of wanting to be an astronaut… I actually went to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama.
11. I love Country music and I’m not afraid to admit it. I also love Rock, Hard Rock, Top 40, and Hip Hop music.
12. I’m a Republican. This does not make me terribly popular in my family.
13. I don’t own any guns yet, but I LOVE to shoot them. Thanks to McHottie and his mini arsenal for the opportunity.
14. I plan on getting my CCW.
15. I LOVE rollercoasters. I love them so much I decided to get a job at Cedar Point the summer after I graduated from High School.
16. I also love photography. I shot my first wedding five years ago and have done more and more work each year since.
17. I’m a total sucker for an accent. And blue eyes.
18. I’m a geek. I’ve built my last four computers, and I love techy stuff. :)
19. I’m OBSESSED with Grey’s Anatomy. I guess you probably knew that based on my regular Thursday night posts.
20. I have nightmares involving elevators. Don’t ask.
21. My Father and Grandfather owned an Allis Chalmer’s dealership. I grew up around orange tractors and silver combines.
22. I was a sorority girl in college. Kappa Delta.
23. In my teenage years I frequented glam/hair band concerts. I wore skimpy outfits and because I looked five years older than I was I often got to meet band members. (Fortunately for my SOUL I’m a good Catholic girl so I’d run off as soon as I got a picture taken with them). I’ve met Jani Lane and Joey Allen from Warrant, Gunnar Nelson and Bobby Rock from Nelson, The Rick’s (Allen and Savage) from Def Leppard, and the members of Poison. Oh, and Sammy Hagar from Van Halen during the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge tour. He was the highlight. What a cool guy. Mom, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry. :)
24. I became an EMT because of a choking incident involving my son. The same thing happened with my daughter while I was in Medic School. My reaction was completely different, I did exactly what I was taught to do.
25. I’ve voted in every election since the age of 18 (including the primaries).
Okay, on that note I’m going to watch the news. I’m sorry for my lack of creativity, there should be an actual EMS post up tomorrow. Take care and be safe out there.
