To my favorite Baby Brother.

To celebrate we started out at the bowling alley. The little one has never bowled before, and truthfully I thought she was still a little small for it, but she was insisting. And no, she doesn’t need any help thank you very much.

FC lacked the excitement that his sister had for this undiscovered territory, but hung in there. He even broke 100.

Every time she knocked a pin down she would tacklehug her brother. She’s a little lover that one. I’ve never seen a kid more excited over a bowling alley. I think I need to get her out of the house a little more often.

After the bowling alley the family headed back to the house to eat and party down a little. Well, as much as a bunch of old folks and a couple of kids hopped up on sugar can party on a Sunday afternoon.
My brother (what is that crap on his CHIN???), sat down to open a few presents. Being the bad sister that I am (hey, I ran out of time!), I bought him a card and shoved some money in it. If you squint really hard you’ll notice that Snow White is on the front of the card. My brother and I have a long standing tradition of buying the most inappropriate cards we can find for the occasion for each other. Our family doesn’t get it. This card was perfect for the “Party Princess”. He and I laughed. My Mother rolled her eyes.
Happy Birthday, little brother. I hope you bought yourself something pink and sparkly with the cash!

Happy birthday to your brother…you’re a fun sister…I have one of those…one out of three…not bad, lol! Ah bowling…I still hold the record in Norfolk Virginia for being the only person on record to get a strike in someone elses lane…lol
hugs
Sandi
Um, Epi… your little brother is, well… he’s a hottie.
So ya know. Must run in the family. ;)
What a fun day!
And oh yeah, my brother and I give each other inappropriate cards all the time…it makes them all the more special.

“I’ve never seen a kid more excited over a bowling alley. I think I need to get her out of the house a little more often.”
That’s what I love about kids – so easily excited! Your kids are so cute!
Sounds like uncle Epi had a lovely birthday :o)
“Capricorns are born old”.
Can’t remember where I read that. It wasn’t a slam… it meant they were more mature than their peers.
Birthdays so close to Christmas suck. Mine is coming up on the 25th, and that’s still too damn close… presents were always few and light.
I’m glad you made the Princess smile on his special day!
Sounds like a great time… thanx for your words of encouragment…. JS
“pink and sparkily” Hee, hee…looks like much fun was had by all! :) Love the thing about the cards!
Sandi,
You’re not the only one to land a ball in another lane :) I’m guilty of the same while playing pool! I’ve popped the cue ball onto another table twice now. Clearly I shouldn’t play pool. Or bowl. Ever.
Bernice,
You kill me girly! He is a doll, I have to say. He’s very humble, and a really good guy. And obviously a good sport when it comes to Princess related Birthday cards.
Chapati,
You make a great point, that is part of the fun of being a parent to a little one! And I think he did have a good day. Thanks for the comment ;)
Kim,
That’s so funny! Our tradition started when I was in the hospital several years ago and he brought me a card telling me what a “Precious Nubian Princess” I am. Good Lord. It’s snowballed since then!
Greybeard,
My brother’s actual birthday is New Years Eve, barely a week outside of Christmas. He loves it now, but when he was younger… Well, he might have gotten the short end of the stick when money was tight.
JS,
Anytime, dear!
Tracy Barnett,
Thanks for the comment, I’m glad I didn’t offend anyone with the pink and sparkly comment :)
