My little shit machine is home! (My apologies to those with sensitive ears.) I wanted to thank everyone who wrote me through email or comments with excellent advice (all of it pretty much identical) on how to house train the little bugger. I started to reply to each comment, but then the little guy let loose on my wooden floors again. And again. And again. And twice more.

But look at that little face. NinjaMedic, I had the hardest time being stern. Give me a few more days of this and I’m sure it’ll get easier. For the record, he seems to like Beanie Babies. My Daughter gladly gave up Valentino here. And yes, I managed to distract Dasher long enough to replace the bean filled stuffed animal with something more appropriate.

Like an approved puppy toy. A stuffed duck. There ya go Dash, knock yourself out baby.

He got sick of the squeaky duck and found the Beanie Baby again. He’s good. Stealthy. That’s my boy. I need to find better hiding places.
Now give me that Beanie Baby.
Please???

Oh my he is so cute! It’s kind of like baby fever, but it is puppy fever. Good luck with the presents he leaves. Don’t let that little bugger out of your sight!
You’ve already found out haven’t you-
Puppy teeth are one class short of razors. Anything he starts working on will be headless or in several pieces in short order.
Rawhide chews work. Some pups like nylabones.
He’s mighty cute.
You can’t imagine how attached you’re gonna get.
I also suggest a kong Its even better if you smear a little peanut butter on the inside of it. Entertainment for him for hours. I kid you not.
Congrats, I guess. (from the bah-humbug-non-dog-lover) :) I will admit, however, that he is a good looking pup. A fine selection, if I must say so.
how perfect! Looking forward to many , many pictures.

He’s adorable! We are back in Perrysburg for a couple of weeks and stopped at our condo’s president’s place today. She has taken a young golden retreiver from an abused puppy to an wonderfully trained dog in a few short months. We watched as she obeyed all the doggie commands anyone would ever need. When the training is consistent… the dog is wonderful, besides being cute.
I just spent some time catching up on your blog. You are really amazing. I don’t know how you manage to write such a quality blog with a job, a home and children. I think I’m spending too much time on quilts and not enough time writing. Keep up the good work.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW He is SO cute! Makes me want to go buy a new puppy….
OOOOOHHH MMMYYYYYY he’s a cutie. Look at those eyes!
awwwwwwwww he’s SOOOO CUTE!!!! looking forward to lots of pics of what Dasher got into!
Too Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Just a head’s up – regarding how sharp puppy teeth are, ect. Be ye ware of rawhide chews. Some dogs will just flat out eat them (like my parent’s dog) and it can cause MASSIVE gastroenteritis. So if you go down the rawhide path, limit their time with it before it’s all eaten and you’re cleaning up the mess. My parent’s lab can have two toys: kongs and nylabones. Nothing else, no exceptions. We learned the hard way.
Awww, too cute for words…i could just hug him all over! :) Pig ears, they l o v e pig ears….but with a baby like him, you might have to be careful of choking, etc…with two grown “pups”, i forget what to do when they are babies…adorable babies!
I can’t let him out of my sight. The second I do he leaves me a present. :P
Hey Greybeard… Expect an email from me tonight. (Sorry it took me so long!) I believe it took me about thirty seconds to figure out how sharp those teeth are. The white bear in the picture above is now in the garbage, missing a leg.
I’m gonna need to look into those rawhide chews.
