I’m willing to beg…

For a good cause.

On June 5th, 2010 an F-4 tornado ripped through an area not very far from my home.  It destroyed the EMS quarters where a few very good friends of mine work.  It leveled the Police Department tossing their patrol cars like they were toys. The High School, just hours before a graduation was completely torn apart… It left a trail of destruction.  It took lives, including a sibling of a former coworker.  A little girl is orphaned, losing her Mother, her 4-year-old Brother and her Father.  The Valedictorian of the graduating class lost her Dad.  So many people lost their homes…

Please consider taking a second to vote for Lake High School in Kohl’s Cares.  The top 20 schools will win $500,000.  Imagine what that could do for the area…

Here’s the link. Vote for Lake High School. If you look on the left hand side of the page under the picture, you’ll see a link for LHS.  Click there.  (Sorry, this is turning out to be slightly more complicated than I thought it was)

Thank you…  You have no idea what this means to me.

Be safe out there.

The link isn’t working for me, it gets to the page and then just reloads it over and over and over again. Any idea what’s wrong?

The FB page loads fine for me, but when I search for Lake High School, I get a lot of results. What city/state is it in?

Thank you for putting this up! We are scared 8 days left and we’re dropping like a Lake brick :( The link is okay unfortunately it is Kohl’s that is glitchy at times the page I run that is pushing the get out the vote effort is http://www.facebook.com/myseedlings if you want to try from facebook the links are under the profile picture. I couldn’t vote my last five votes for almost fifteen days because of the glitchy Kohl’s site, and we only have 8 so they need to fix it!

Have you guys considered getting on the local news? Your best chance of getting a bunch of votes is in your own area…

It’s so hard to look at those pictures and watch that video. So many lives that were crushed by a simple storm! I worked on a lifesquad in Lake for two years until this past Jan. When word of the storm hit, I dropped everything to “goto work” just as many of you would. The home of an elderly man where I’d stood countless times before was a pile of timber and the school where we posted for numerous sporting events was rubble. Even the lifesquad’s quarters were vanquished. Thank you so much for taking the time to vote but more importantly, for your prayers. The hearts, souls and homes are slowly healing. Lake will overcome! Thank you all!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their comments, their votes, and the emails with positive thoughts and prayers. I’m once again humbled.

Seems to be happening a lot lately.

I’ve been asked where you can donate financially… Seems to be that United Way is a great place to start. Here’s the link: http://www.unitedwaytoledo.org/Give

If people didnt vote for your elementary school you would have more than enough votes to win. 22,000+ votes just for the elementary school. I wonder if Khols will consider that?
