Your son is lucky to have a mom who stands up for him. My son just told me today that a fellow student in his class has been strangling him in the bathroom on potty breaks and that it happened again just this friday. He said this has gone on since school started!!!And I just find out now! I'll be shlepping to the school Monday to find out how this can happen!

Chin up! You are SuperWoman! Even if you don't particularly feel like it!

Can totally sympathize - not the lack-of-work part, but 7 overtime shifts in the last 10 days including the one I'm on as I type. ::Yaawwn::

Luckily, Christmas may now not leave me destitute. ;)

On the other hand, my wife reports from the parent-teacher conferences (which I missed, being at work) that my girls are stellar students and pleasures to have in class. ::puffs chest out:: Must be their mother's influence. God knows they don't get that from me. :)

Just keep on truckin'.

I couldve totally written that post! I finally finished all my midterm requirements and have a couple weeks to breathe. This is my first free weekend since the end of September.

I barely have a clue what my daughter is doing in school and last weekend my son started saying new words and I was the last to hear them :( I'm so ready for a break!

Yeah, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. We lost a pilot last month and 3 of us are doing the work of four...
Makes prioritizing REAL important. Bill paying, no fun- I know, must pretty much be put at the top of that list.

My son was a head taller than most of his classmates, but a gentle soul. When the bullies realized they could push him around with no fear of retrubution they started hounding him. After three or four "consults" with school administrators I realized I'd eventually be hearing my kid was found with multiple fractures at the bottom of the the long stairway. I took him out of the public school system and enrolled him in a local Christian school...
Absolutely the BEST decision I ever made!
He's 26 now and I attribute much of his success to the fact he was able to spend those years without fear, focused on his studies.

Congratulations on the new job! I hope that it is everything you hope for :-)

I hope the bullying stops, and soon - some kids are just too unpleasant :-(

(Since you asked, I've been moving to the other side of the world - UK -> NZ, and finding that New Zealand feels more like home than the UK ever did...)

We're all pulling for you here in Blogland. I wish I could go with you to school to beat up the brat that is annoying your youngun..oh, you weren't going to beat her up? Can we rethink your decision? You're sure, then. Okay, so I wish I could go talk to staff then...but believe me, my way would be better...and I have combat boots and all...
Really, hope you're feeling cheered, now
hugs

Girl, I know how you feel. I'm getting my trauma shears out to cut my candle into more small pieces to have more ends to burn. You're just gonna have to let some things slide, like reading blogs, for a short while and get some of the other worms pushed back in the box.

Congratulations on the new job. A new medic? Sounds like way too much drama, IMO, but I hope it's a good match.

My question is, "Why in the h*** does a 4th grader know that word?" It sucks when morons interfere with child-like innocence and I hope your son is okay.

It was nice to catch up. Stay safe!
